Let the games begin!

School officially began this morning. Class was from 9am-1pm with 10 minute breaks every 50 minutes. We each got a piece of paper with our names written in Korean that are now taped to the front of our desks. So this is what my full name looks like!
We were also given books. Currently we are going over the alphabet/reading. It is actually harder than I thought that it would be. Definitely harder than Russian.

There are 11 of currently in my class. It went pretty well, even though two of the Chinese guys got pretty enthusiastic toward the end and were practically yelling every time we had to repeat our teacher (talk about a headache!).

I did some exploring after class and I found some neat things. One was a golfing range. Evidently, you can talk golf classes here. I also found a soccer stadium and some basketball courts.
I think that the neatest thing that I found today, however, was a set of stairs (sounds weird, huh?). At first I thought that they were broken and crumbling, but as I got closer, I saw that this set of brick stairs doubled as a ramp as well. I thought that it is pretty neat!

Otherwise than that, I didn't do too much today. Just homework, unfortunately.

I would love to hear from you guys. Is there anything particular that you want to know about or anything that has not been interesting to you? I would especially love to hear how you are doing. News from home is always welcome! You can leave a comment below (click on the "No comment" or "1 comment" etc, and you can leave a comment there) and send me an email: Agreutm@bgsu.edu!

  1. Greutman is even stranger in Korean. Bet no one would get the spelling right, instead of only half:)

  2. I don't know how you do it using symbols. It was hard enough for me to learn Spanish (which I've forgotten) using letters I already know!! It made me laugh out loud when I read about the guys answering so loudly. And that stairs is amazing!!!! Thanks for posting!!
